NUEVA "TORTA DE PULIDO". NEW PITCH LAP (1)

Hola de nuevo, una de las cosas buenas de los hobbies es que siempre están ahí para retomarlos cuando te apetece. Así que tras una larga pausa me he puesto “manos a la obra” para ver si termino el espejo primario de mi futuro telescopio reflector.

Una de las grandes novedades es que cada párrafo estará traducido al inglés utilizando para ello el traductor de Google, que sabe más inglés que yo….

FUNDIENDO LA RESINA

El estado es el siguiente: tras pulirlo con el óxido de cerio, me di cuenta de que su superficie había perdido su esfericidad; esto me obligó a dar unos pasos atrás y volver a trabajar con los abrasivos de carburo de silicio.

Así pues he estado desbastando con carburos de granulometrías 500, 600 y 1200. No tengo abrasivo intermedio entre las dos últimas granulometrías mencionadas, (no he sido capaz de localizarlo), pero no debería ser un inconveniente.

De la torta de pulido anterior he aprovechado la resina, despegándola del cristal que utilicé como soporte. Este cristal  era en realidad, la denominada “herramienta”.

Normalmente el soporte de la torta de pulido debería ser yeso de construcción, cemento o yeso dental fraguado sobre la resina seca y solidificada, pero para no depender de estos elementos, en su momento, yo aproveche la herramienta de cristal.

Esto ha sido un grave error puesto que de esta forma la herramienta queda inutilizada para su posible uso durante todo este proceso, ya que que la torta de pulido está adherida a la misma.

BASE DE ALUMINIO UTILIZADA COMO SOPORTE DE LA TORTA DE PULIDO

Esta vez, tal y como se ve en las fotos, la base utilizada es un disco de aluminio que he comprado hace tiempo para mi siguiente proyecto, así que la herramienta está disponible para proceder a correcciones de la forma del espejo en caso necesario.

Los pasos a seguir han sido: fundir la resina, verterla sobre la superficie del cristal, antes de que solidificase del todo apoyar la base de aluminio, desmoldar y posteriormente preparar la superficie de la torta creándole los canales adecuados (channelling).

Para poder verter y dar forma a la resina sobre el cristal creamos un molde de papel alrededor de éste que posteriormente eliminaremos.

Debemos evitar que la resina se pegue al cristal porque de otra forma será imposible desmoldar la torta; la mejor forma que yo he encontrado es la de poner sobre el cristal papel de aluminio.

Como se ve en el reportaje fotográfico, para hacer más fácil apoyar el disco de aluminio sobre la resina hemos cortado en tiras el molde de papel; de esta forma cuando apoyemos el disco, el molde de papel de abrirá como una flor permitiendo que se apoye perfectamente sobre la resina.
